Doe Tag Strategies

...once shotgun season ends I will be out harassing the does...I have a bow tag and two late season tags...do you guys have some fail-safe strategies for harvesting mature does after being pressured by shotgunners?...

Hunt the food, about the only fail safe way when it comes to those wary old does. If its cold enough and you got a good spot with the food of choice, you will be in them thick. In the mornings a hundred yards or so in front of a thick bedding area also produces alot of does, but night will be the best over food, in my opinion!! goodluck and go get em!!

food, food, food. late season i like to get between the food and beds. if your after a big fat doe, put up stands around the perimeter of fields that they migrate to. they will be in the fields early enough to shoot.....

I have two late season muzzleloader doe tags as well and am planning on hunting the picked corn fields. Ditto to what everyone has said. Find those food sources and set up....they'll come out sooner or later.

...one of the areas I want to hunt in the late season is a harvested corn field that consistently attracts deer in the late season...however, besides some terraces it is void of any real cover...do you think I can get by using my Double Bull?...

It will be a bit easier once they calm down from the slug seasons. Also if you are using a musket you will have better luck than if you were needing them in bowrange. Pick your location with some sort of strategy and you might be suprised.
