With that big of an opening I would think that there would be issues to using the Matrix on whitetails. Granted, I hunt out of a Lone Wolf most of the season so it's just a thought is all.
I bought the matrix and have set it up a few times to spactice out of. I think it is going to be the schiznit! There are so many different things that you can do with this one that you could not with the others. I will hopefully find out on Monday and give ya a full report!
Just bought a Matrix not too long ago. Set it up in all possible configurations and it beats the oval-windowed blinds hands down. You simply have an unlimited option when choosing your shooting window shape and if you want it netted or wide open. I can't imagine a better way to go....and isn't the Matrix cheaper than the T5?
DLO, I found the T5 for 349 and the Matrix for 399. I still don't know which to go with. My buddy has a T5 so I think I'll go set it up and see if I like it and that might help. There are certain things I like about each of them. I'm afraid that the Matrix might have a little to many openings. But the versatility of the shooting options is great.
too many openings? i saw one set up at scheels, and there is just basically one opening, that you can adjust with the fabric, to be as big as you wanted. if i was in the market for a camo hunting tent,(and had the $$$$) the matrix is the way i would go
It depends what you are hunting for. Matrix for turkey works awesome but if it's deer then tee roy is right the opening is real big and you can see the movement in there to much. I've been in both and personally I'd take the old T5 anyday over the matrix.
Matrix all the way. I have hunted in the T5 with my brother and now have a matrix. I have been practicing out of my matrix with a 9 year old and his recurve beside me and love it. The ability to configure the blind almost any way that you would want it is great. I think that you will find the versitility of the matrix design applicable to both turkeys and white-tails.
Liv and I hunted out of my Matrix this morning, we had the window wide open with the netting open also. We had some birds come in and they looked right at us and did'nt think anything of it! We also had a doe come in right away, and she was a little leary I think of it being open.
