Double cropping Brassicas

Has anyone done that?
Thinking of planting fast growing radishes in early May, terminating them mid July and reseeding late July.
Pros/ cons to this?
I have done it with success, but in great soil. Surely there would be a diminishing return in more marginal ground without some inputs added year 2

I don’t know what insects and diseases target brassicas but I would be skeptical if you were to do that year after year.

We had leftover cover crop seed we scattered by our shop a couple years in a row and the radishes that were seeded in the spring all flowered and put seed on. You would want to kill them before they put seed on or risk having 10x as many as you wanted for your second planting.

I wonder if you could benefit from soybeans or peas the first round ? Maybe get some nitrogen in the soil that way ?

Snail, did the deer browse the leaves first go round? That would be my goal.
Great soil here. Ph runs 7.5ish.
The first year, not until they were fairly mature around the first half of October. The second year for me always seems like the browse is an issue from the time they germinate. Almost like they're ready for them the second go around.
