However, I did get a IL tag, which sold out the 1st day. And to top it all off i drew the coveted once in a lifetime moose tag here in MN, cant wait for Oct.

Too bad on IA and KS but it sounds like you got Il in just the right time......It is getting hard to get in over here as well. What county are you going to hunt?
 
Shredder, I've got an offer in Vermillion county along the river on a private farm to hunt with some friends. That's my #1 option right now. It would be nicer to have something a little closer to the MN side of the state but beggers can't be chooser's they say.
My real thrill this year will be the Moose hunt. I will be going into the Boundry Waters Canoe Area around Oct 1 and not coming out until the 17th or till i have my moose. It will be quit the experience. I will also have a bear and deer tag in my pocket that can be used there. I'm pumped! Lots of planning to do now ( one of the best parts of any adventure for me).
Any tips on public land closer to my neck of the woods??
 
Nothing I am aware of anyways. Seems outfitters have ground leased up around me as well and I am not in the top counties. I guess there is some ground that is public down around quincy area but I know nothing about it.
 
Thought that was probably the case. Well that is a ways off yet anyway.

I've got a line on some ground in Macoupin County..Been pretty promising for 200+ in the last 7 years...drop me a line..
