So I my muzzy fell on the floor while cleaning it just before the season started. I didn't think the scope was affected because I did hit a deer with it at 80 yards.

Well, on Monday night, I came up on 14 deer bed down in thick woods. Fired a shot on a big doe 80 yards and missed. Ok im not the best shot and there was a 10-15mph cross wind. I do use a shooting stick and control my breathing. Luckily deer didn't move, so I reloaded and tried again. Missed. 5 shots later and im out of rounds and the deer are still there. How frustrating is that.

Went out and fired on a 6x6 target at 100 yards and went over it.

Is my scope potentially broken, or do I just need to resite it?

This happened to me a number of years ago, do as previously stated and resight it in.

I'd also make sure you have everything loc tited down as far as the mount and rings. Now if you want to upgrade the scope, I'd tell the wife its broke. :)

another question is how did you get 5 bullets down that dirty of a barrel?! lo....I struggle to get a second down my encore barrel shooting barnes expanders or the hornady sst. Powerbelts are easier though, but its because they are a bit smaller.

But as others said, just go out and zero it back and you should be ok. If you have done everything and still cant hit anything, might be time for a new scope.

I dropped my rifle out the door of a blind one evening in south Texas. I caught it by the butt just before it fell 10 feet. I checked the zero the next morning and it was off a bit. Like everyone else says, re-zero (bore sight if necessary) and you should be good. I also use the blue loc-tite for rings and bases to ensure they won't wiggle loose. I had a friend whose son missed 13 times at various deer down in SE AZ a couple of years ago b/c nobody checked to see the rings/bases were loose. If all else fails, Liv4rut and bearcat both have good points: time for a new scope!

Be aware,, most plastic sabots can get very brittle when the temps get down to 10 degrees or so. The impact of ignition can cause them to basically shatter in the barrel.
When that happens all bets are off as to what you may or may not hit.
If you suspect that is happening, go looking for your spent sabots. If all is well you should find them intact and neatly deployed.
If you find little pieces of sabot, there probably isn't anything wrong with the gun or sights, you just need to find a different sabot.

Well I tried to rezero with exisiting scope and my pattern was all over the board. Bought a new scope and had her good to go in about 7 rounds. Yeah!
