Drought and Deer patterns?

Greetings, Fellow lady and Gentlemen Sports People, I am wondering about the ongoing and expanding drought over east and southeast IA, as well as Ill. I have not been down to my property lately, but my neighbors down there say it is starting to affect the crops. Have little experience hunting farm country. Last season was my first. Good crops last fall, and corn was picked late. I assume poor corn crop affects deer movement? Any personal experiences with this situation? Thanks!

If the drought affects movement it will be because of the water supply- not the effect on the corn crop. Deer really don't care if they are eating 100 bushel/acre corn or 200 bushel/acre corn they may have to move slightly further but I wouldn't see that as a major pattern change.

Did some paddling the other night, was suprised at the amount of deer at waters edge during the evening.

I saw EHD (Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease) mentioned on another board. With deer congregating at water, transmission of the disease might rise.

I likely will rise (EHD) if we don't get some rain. Will likely happen in late august or early september if it occurs.
