Dryed up creeks,deer highways?

Have any of you ever set up on a dryed up creek with any luck?
Some of the creeks in my area, which are bone dry are major runs by the looks of them. Most deer sign ive seen anywhere, tracks from runts to doe's to buck tracks.
They either have a spring someware they are drinking out of or the creek is easy walken or both.
My question is are they using the creeks in the mornings or evenings,or some time in the night?
The heavest used creek ive seen is 50 yards from the highway, runs paraler for a 100 yards and connects to a bigger creek, only about a third of the tracks on the bigger creek.looks like a herd of buffalo have been using the small creek.
On the way home from hunting last night i had to drive by this same area,it was dark and i saw 2 groups of 5 deer or so cross the highway in front of me about 1,000 yards from this creek heading into the area.
Any thoughts on hunting these type of creeks?
This is a public hunting area,if i hunt it i will have to be dropped off, seems people like to honk their horns a lot when they see a truck there, even tractor trailors

i'd go for it. deer are lazy by nature and will take the path of least resistance. sounds like one of those spots that is overlooked by people all the time. what's the worse thing that can happen if you sit it once or twice??

Give it a shot. I've spent lots of time by creeks. Deer seem to love them including some really nice bucks. If water is short in the area (ponds etc.) it might pay to explore up and down the creek. If you find a deep hole with water and it is the only water around you have something special. When the weather get quite hot creeks can attract a lot of attention also. I've run into big bucks bedded in damp creek beds presumably to keep cool at mid-day. This creek ran through a large timber. Another nice thing about creeks is you often have a great way to sneak in and out and reading sign is relatively easy.

Good Hunting!

Last year, I had two bucks come into the timber from the feild. They had both visited the same scrape about 10 minutes apart. They were both pushing 130 - 140 size. The first buck didnt offer a shot, but he did head directly for a dry creek and traveled in it. The second offerd a shot, I missed, and he too headed right for the same creek and took it.
You might give it a try.

I hunt on a creek that has a bean field on one side and a corn field on the other. I sat in my stand for a week during the summer. I noticed that the creek being some what damp it always about 5-10 degrees cooler. Great for early season! But once the cold snap hits the deer in my area are only crossing it in places. I noticed last year during the rut that the bucks would run that creek like crazy. They made many scrapes and I even watched two does bed down down in it for the afternoon. Give it a try, won't know til ya do. Good luck
