I like movement in my decoys and I wanted a breeder stake for my DSD hen. I purchased H. S. breeder stake but it was to big to fit in the hole of the decoy.
I went to Menards and bought some pvc to try and make one my self. I know its not rocket science but here is how I did it.
I use an old carbon arrow 50lb spider wire and the pvc. I cut the arrow 16 1/2" then drilled a small hole 6 3/4" from the bottom(not including the point for either). Sand the top of the arrow round so it doesn't cut the spider wire. The pvc is 9" with a hole drilled 2" from what will be the bottom. The pvc was alittle to big to fit in the DSD hole so I took my dremel with the drum sander to it till it fit. Feed the spider wire through the hole drilled in the arrow. I fed a shorter piece of spider wire through the hole in the pvc tied it on the spider wire coming out the top of the arrow and pulled it through the pvc. Tie a stopper on the spider wire, then slide the pvc on the arrow. Then I used the the line and clip that came with the H.S. breeder stake.
