I've been racking my brain trying to come up with something simple and easy to get motion in my decoys since my strutti'n 360 finally gave out. I was thinking about just taking fishing line and wrapping it around the decoy then using a reel to reel in the line getting the decoy to spin.
Then it hit me just attach a spool of line to the bottom of the decoy. As long as the rod would fit through the hole in the spool if figured it would be simple. So after the boys track meet I got to it.
Here is what I came up with my first try.
Took it out in the yard and it worked perfectly. Took back inside and decided to add to it when I took it apart and tried to put it back together. I added two more screws to stop it so it was tight over the stake hole. Putting the stake in locks it in.
I'm using rubber band to keep the line from falling off the spool.
Then I had to trim a set of wings down so they won't catch the line.
May be a little cheesy but I'm gonna give it a run after work tomorrow.
If you see something I can change or do different to make it better don't be afraid to help me out
