I'm looking at picking up a new camera for doing some amateur outdoor photography. Right now I'm looking at either a Nikon D60 or a Canon Rebel XS.
Anybody have any experience with either of these or have another(similar in cost) choice.
Also, what size lenses are you using?

Thanks

I don't shoot with either of those cameras but use a Nikon D40X with a 18-55 mm lens & a 55-200 mm lens. Does a great job with outdoor photography for an amateur like myself. I'd like to get a larger lens to experiment with but haven't taken the step yet since a good one costs more than the whole outfit I bought!

I have a Nikon D80 that I am very pleased with.

Lens: Nikon AF-S Nikkor 18-135mm & 70-300mm.

Yes it is, that was one of my target bucks two years ago. The arrow was not mine.........and I have no idea who's arrow it was either. The photo was taken during the rut so the buck may have been chasing on another property?

I am fairly certain that I got a peek at this same deer this past fall chasing a doe. He was a pig! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

We own a Nikon D40 and just added an 18-200 Tamron lens. We are complete novices and it has taken some killer pics!! Spend your money on the lens and not necessarily megapixels if cost is an issue. If $$ is not a concern then go for it.
