Early ML season sucked

Man. The combo of warm mild weather and full moon just had the deer not moving much at all. And when they were moving it was late. The best chances I had on deer were when I was still hunting. I hope everyone else experienced the same thing as me just so I know I was not screwing up. This was the worst early ML season I've seen.

I will agree, horrible season. Warm Temps and lots of rain this past weekend. The biggest buck I seen was a low 140s 8 point that I passed up last night. I know there was a mature buck behind him because he was grunting and thrashing trees and was pushing this buck towards me. Unfortunately he never showed himself and was within 40 yards after shooting hours but I never did see him. Who knows what it was.

I would like to invite everyone to my house for dinner. I will be serving up generous portions of Tag Soup. There should be enough to go around for everyone, so come on over!

Agreed, I had deer movement every day withing shooting range...at 5:20 am...hardly saw deer in shooting light...biggest buck I saw that I had a shot at was a basket 8...crappy season! And suuuuuuure....NOW the cold front comes....

I also saw little deer movement. I was getting trail camera pictures of bucks almost every morning and night just 45 minutes before or after dark. Never saw anything bigger than a spike buck during shooting hours. I ended up taking a doe on Friday because I was tired of sitting for 4 hours a day and not seeing anything.

That was my very first muzzleloader season, and I fully agree..... It sucked. Shot a doe opening morning. Last few days never saw a deer. Between early bow and muzzy, I still have yet to see one antler. Not even a little one. Saw a monster one mile from my spot while driving in the dark, but nothing on stand. I have all next week off of work, so hopefully things pick up soon for my week off.
