I Hunted hard with the bow on Saturday on a field edge in the wind and rain with no luck. The birds don't seem to like the fields and I am not sure why, they seem to be staying in the timber, maybe because it is still so open with the late spring we are having. So out came the Remington 870.
I ended up getting setup on a gobbler Sunday morning. He was only appx. 80 yards in the tree. After some very soft tree yelps and leaf raking he pitched down and came my way looking for the hen with many many thundering gobbles. He was layed to rest at 5:58 am. Quick hunt, but fun. 22.2 lbs, 3/4" spurs and 9-1/8" beard. A good ol 2 year old! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
