Easton ACC

Anyone used the new Easton ACC's yet? I have considered going back to alum from carbons. Was not happy with broadhead consistency last year and I've never had that problem with aluminum. Wondering if the new ACC's would give me the consistency, speed, and durability that I'm looking for. What are your thoughts?

Thanks.

They are great arrows but way to pricey in my opinion. They are like aluminum in that if they bend, they're done. You can straighten them a little bit but they will never be perfect again.

This won't answer your question about the ACC's, but I just got a new quiver full of Gold Tip XT Hunter's and have been very happy. I've shot almost all the major brands through my bow and the Gold Tip's have been the most consistent for me...followed closely by Carbon Express Terminator's.

I am guessing you are referring to the A/C Super Slims? I don't have any experience with them but have the A/C/Cs and like them. I am not crazy when they bend which is not very often but they will bend.

I am going to try the Gold Tip Pro Hunter this year and see how those go. Seem to be one of the straightest and most consistant arrow out there...

I am looking forward to trying them out.

Limb,

I shoot the GT's out of my trad bows. They have been a terrific arrow. Have you ever seen the weight system Black Widow sells for the Gold Tip arrows? A great way to get your arrows tuned and increase their weight.

No, I haven't but, I am going to shoot the 75/95 because I want the 340 spine. They are 9 grns/inch and that will be plenty for my needs the tubes are pretty neat though.

I think the acc's are the best hunting arrow out there. I shot 3 deer and a bull elk one year with the same arrow. Didn't bend untill the last doe I shot wheeled away to run and the arrow stuck in the frozen ground while the fletched end was still inside her. I have been shooting the acc superslims this summer and don't care for them at all. They are nearly 11 grains per inch and pack a wallop, but the end is exposed with those HIT inserts and I have had 3 of them splinter at the tip so far. All types of arrows have their good and bads. I look for consistency in spine and weight, and overall straightness. The acc's are at the top of the list.

dang 340 spine! I beleive my last batch of tapered cedar shafts for my widow was 70-75.

Any idea what the spine is on a beaman 400 is?

Yep...The spine (deflection) on a Beman 400 is .400. I like the heavier arrow for my recurve so I added 100 grain brass HIT inserts from Morrison Archery to soften that stiff 340 up. I got tired of buying cedars by the 100 so I could get a good dozen.
