Found a mess of these on a dead box elder today. Anyone recognize them?

Probably a 5 gallon bucket of them. Anyone in the Iowa City area interested?

Called a mycologist at the local university last night, sent pics to him and he confirmed yellow oysters. Fried up a couple last night as a trial run, no problems and we like them. Now to figure out what to do with the rest of them.... He said put them in a paper bag and store in the fridge for up to a couple of days.

Late to the party but definitely oyster mushrooms. Better than morels and easier to find. We find them mid may till October any time it rains enough.

Anybody on here hunt for hen of the woods mushrooms. Found 2 with out looking very hard. One was ready to pick, the other needs to do some more growing. What is sitting in the ranger seat is one Mushroom in 2 pieces to give an idea of size.20240902_104521.jpg

We had one growing at the base of a dead oak in the back yard and never tried it.

Being red/green colorblind limits my mushroom foraging, among other things….
