Elite GT-500

ALright well I have been looking around and am going to go look at and maybe possibly buy the elite gt-500. I am just wondering if anyone has ever shot or owned this bow. I kind of just want to know the pros and cons of this bow. Thanks.

One of Elite's best IMO. Sold my beloved GT a few weeks ago. Had to make room in the stable for the new Answer. The GT is a great bow. Very stable 35" axle to axle, smooth draw, and great let-off. Not sure what year your looking at but the 2010 model has the modular cams and I like the draw and letoff better than the 09' draw specific cam. It's got great speed for a 7 1/4" brace height. Can't say a bad thing about it other than a slight kick/jump at the shot which I didn't mind. Some want a dead bow at the shot but I like a little feedback.

Absolutely loved those bows, never bought one as I had just bought a new one when they came out. I shot one at the deer classic 2 years ago and it was awesome. Had a good friend of mine that had one and his bow shop owners that he works for just about had to pry it out of his fingers with a screwdriver to get him to shoot one of their brands. If I'd known he was going to get rid of it, I would have bought it on the spot! That may be one of the best bows Elite has ever made.

I have a Judge and a Pure. I like them both. The pure is starting to be my favorite bow ever. I need To get some long range shooting in before I say for sure.

I had one for a year....the feel of the bow was great.....it had good balance and the draw cycle was very smooth and it had a rock solid backwall.

I could not get used to the grip on the bow though....it was just way to inconsistent for me as far as accuracy. I finally had to sell it and get another Hoyt which for some reason I seem to shoot the best.

If you can get used to the grip this would be a great bow for you.

Well i ended up buying the bow its the 2009 Elite GT-500, I was very pleased with the speed it had with the smooth draw. The grip was a little smaller than used to but its starting to feel confortable. The thing I dont really like about it, is that I think i have to buy new cams if i want the draw legnth any longer.

Yup I would look into putting 2010 Modular cams on it if the draw length is wrong. IMO it's a better feeling cam and that way if you sell it. The buyer just needs to buy mods not the whole cam.

Do you have any idea what the pricing is for them?
