Empty Freezer Blues

I have never been this close to running out of deer meat. Six packages of burger, one roast, one package of steaks, two sausages and two packs of jerky are all that is left from two big does and a big buck. Come Oct, 1, I'll be hunting for survival!

I've got 20 lbs. of summer sausage, 28 loin steaks which will get eaten this weekend and 9 lbs. of burger. My daughter will be youth hunting the last two weekends of this month. If it's brown, it's down.
