Well, I want to make this guy here into a Euro mount. I was wondering, should I use a kit or should I just take something like the 2nd picture? Which takes more time and or money? I know I can't do it by myself, just wanting some advice.

On a windy day, skin that thing out. I say windy so that you aren't gagging so much. Then, your options are boil or bury. Bury is easier, dig a hole, put the head in with the antler bases level with the soil. Cover with a bucket or something similar to keep dogs off of it. Wait a couple of months.

If you go the boil route, find a container that you can submerge the head just to the antler bases. Slow boil for a couple of hours, some have luck pressure washing to remove the flesh after the boil.

What you do after getting it clean is up to you.

How much should I skin him? It's going to be REALLY hard to do it, and how should I skin it? What should I use because it's really old and I tried to skin it but didn't work to well.

Well, it looks kind of dry which will make skinning harder. Submerge the head (don't get the antlers under water) in a bucket of water for a week, then try to skin/flesh it out. Might be nasty work.....

Might be nasty work but it'll be worth it! So a week? Alright, this is going to take awhile.

You can boil it for thirty minutes. Let it cool down and the dried skin should rehydrate and it will help a little with the smell. Then you want to skin all the hair off the thing. Then you can boil it again for a few hours on a low boil Picking off some of the meat everyonce and a while. I then pressure wash them. It really helps get all the little crap out.

D&D flesheaters does an amazing job. Check out my post earlier today. It is around 100 bones but worth it in my opinion.

Let it soak in water for a week or so then fire up the power washer. should clean up nice. The brain and all the goods inside are probably gone now. I wouldnt worry about boiling it as there is probably not much left under the hide. Let it soak the allotted time, take knife and cut skin down middle of the skull and power wash. I would wear a face shield though. I have done many that I have found dead in this manner and it is way easier. Just takes more time. When you are done with that we can hook you up on how to whiten. I do around 15 to 20 euro mounts a year and this method works great on old rotten skulls.

Sounds good! I think I'll be doing this it's something I can do. I don't have anything to boil it with, but I do have a power washer. I was also wondering if I could just paint it to look like the barb wire camo in my 2nd picture insted of having it white. Or would it look better if it was just white?
