Ever heard of a 3-D String Shoot?

Hey all,

After talking with some people from my area that are now in their late 40s and 50s and no longer shoot archery they were talking about a string shoot that used to happen years ago. Finally I asked cuase I had never heard of something like it or what it was.

You setup your 3-D targets through out the woods usually along a decently used trail. Really not much rhyme or reason. Then you run string through out your course down the trail. Trim some brush if you wish in some places. Shooters can NEVER back up on the string. You miss a good shot opportunity and then you shoot through the brush thats your own fault.

Sounds like a riot, but I think it would take a decent amount of string. Anyone ever shot one of these or set one up?

Late 40's and no longer shooting archery?......what's that all about? I guess at 47 I'm going to have to hang the bow up and get a walker, or just sit around and talk about the good old days.

My town pop. 800. Had an EXTREME archery following in the 70s-early 80s. Most of the people that were from town shot together. Most of them have quit shooting. I think familys were the main reason. I know 1 person that would love to archery hunt but tore his shoulder up from consitantly shooting 100+ bow.
