Everyone Becareful!

Last night when I went to get in my stand, I put my foot on the platform and was bringing my other leg around onto the platform when the stand fell out of the tree. I was lucky to catch myself on my rapid sticks and only fell foot or so but I did pull some muscles and have a few scrapes. After getting back down and looking at the stand, someone had pulled the lag bolt (we put lags in the bottom part of the riser to help secure the base and I used to think it would keep people from stealing our stands) out of the riser on the stand. It is a 6" lag so I know its not going to just fall off. Someone had messed with it and after talking with the neighbor he told me there were a couple of jerkoffs running around that could have done it. So make sure you check over all your stands before you get in them. It sucks that there are people out there that would do something like this. They are really messing with peoples livelyhood and could kill someone. Sorry this is so long, I just want to make sure everyone is safe and is aware that this crap is going on.

Glad to hear that you are alright.... very close call though.

I have no use for the types that would pull off that kind of stunt.

These people are playing with another man or woman's life! Apparently their mental ability doesn't allow them to realize this.

Glad you're ok Bud! Heal up so we can go smoke some skinheads next weekend /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif.

A good lesson for everyone. I had a buddy last year have the same thing happen. Luckily he noticed it when he grabbed the stand to get in. Makes me want to go get one of those safety systems that keeps you tied in while climbing up and getting in the stand.

Safety needs to be priority one when we take to the field. Some of the goings on I witness in the field now days is truly sad, but this kind of stuff is scary.

Let's keep the terrorist activity outside our borders. Take every opportunity to encourage safety, good values and courtesy among all outdoorsmen. Put the bad guys in jail.

Focus on the recreation and not the trophy. I pray for everyones safety in the field this year. Have a good safe season and a bountiful harvest. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif Semper Fi !

A kid at our high school fell out of the tree last night...escaped with stitches. Be careful out there.

Wow, that could have turned UGLY, very easily. I can't imagine doing that to someone.

Glad to hear you're ok.

Guess I'll have to take a double look the next time I climb a tree, because you're right...you just never know.

What the hell is wrong with people? DO they think something like that is funny?? Thankfully your ok, but someone needs a swift kick in the nuts!!!! I hope you find em!

Something kinda like that happened to me a few years ago, but the cullprit was a little bushy tailed tree rodent.
