Extreme Cold, I found where the deer are

Hardcorehunter

UL Shelter/Stove Geek
I hunted for 3 hrs yesterday pm till dark, with my LW hand climber. I saw a lot of deer sign, and saw 6 different deer from my stand. This is the only one that was within bow range. 15 yds. It was so cold that my camera shutter was freezing half open. (-12)I was in a river bottom, and fresh sign was everywhere. The open flats in the timber have been slow for hunting/and deer sign, and now I know why. Deer are in the protection down in the river bottoms. I have been warm as toast using my HardcoreHunter Inferno suit,(I took an extreme cold weather military sleeping bad, sewed legs in it, use buckles to close the legs, so there is no hassle of having to place my legs in a sleeve like conventional suits have, sewed super strong magnets to close the upper chest part, for silent deployment at the time of a shot, and covered it in 3D leafy camo. This combined with my Irish setter 2000 gr snow Claw boots and topped off with Icebreaker boot blankets. Feels great, after all of these years, to finally beat the cold with a great setup. Here are pics from yesterday.

Glad it's working for you. At least you can get into your hunting area.
I have huge drifts, or for a better term....Glaciers, blocking the ways into my hunt spots.

I'm wishing I had some better thermal cover where I hunt. It's flippin cold and I think they've packed up and moved out to thicker country. Good to see some are still getting out there.
