This is one of the deer that I have had my girlfriend hunting the last week or so. He is a 4 year old that I have been getting trail cam pics of regularly. I pulled the card tonight and he not only is a regular (coming by the stand daily) just in the dark, but he also looks to have either been hit by another hunter or wounded by another buck or car. He has a substantial hole in his side and also looks to have broken his right beam
He is still cruising by everday though so I think he's doing ok. Not long and he will show in the daylight I think. Hopefully she'll be there when he does! Amazing what they can live through.

If I had to guess I would say another buck did that to him.

would this happen from getting caught up in a barbed wire fence? every once in a while you will have one run in front of you and they dont quite make it over that top strand of barbed wire and get all messed up. very well could be battle wounds though. wonder what his rack will look like next year from the injury? neat picture(s)

I think another hunter shot him. It looks like a really high entrance wound maybe near the very top of his back and then came out the bottum. Looks the the shot would of been basically straight down and a little to the right or he would of been spined. Regardless, amazing that he's still out walking around daily.
