My vote is fair chase.
I have one cam and I rarely place it where I will be hunting (for fear of spooking deer by checking the cam/leaving scent). Even If I was to set up a grid array of cams to try to "pattern" a bucks movements, he can travel as his mood dictates. A person still has to be in the right stand on the right day, hoping the deer comes down that trail and then make the shot. Trailcam scouting might improve your odds, but doesn't guarantee anything.
What I find most useful about trailcams is that they give you an idea of what kind of deer are in your area. This can help you decide what class of buck to hold out for.
