Went out this morning for a quickie before work. Scared a few turkeys out of a tree right by my stand on the way in, man they make a lot of noise when they take off! Not a lot of action up until about 8. Saw a few does and little dinks. Then I noticed a bunch of deer moving along a hillside about 250 yards away. Ended up being 3 does (1 being hot) and 6 or 7 bucks in tow. I couldn't keep track of the bucks so I'm not sure on count. 2 of the does ended up wandering off back the way they came, but the hot one continued on her way with the bucks following. Unfortunately she didn't come anywhere near me. There was one really nice 8, probably mid 130's and another huge 8 with short G3's. He probably would have gone about the same score wise but he wasn't far from being a 6 point. Anyway, the doe ended up leading them all back the way they came and out of my life.......for this morning anyway! I'm gonna hunt hard through this weekend and hope that there's just enough "heat" in the air to keep things interesting.
