Favorite sight

I just sold my set up looking for new package. I am looking for a new hunting sight with target sight features ( micro adjust) what is your favorite all around hunting sight.
Ease of adjustment, durability, low light visability, ease of aquiring target.

sorry, had to show the correct shooting side first. Here is the Toxonics pic from their site:

The model is K9 5 pin tooless. All steal and the adjustability is awesome. I had the Top Dog model but it was to much sight for a hunting bow. It has the clickable movements where this is measured by the sight tape itself.

That's interesting. I have been looking to upgrade my sight too. I have was looking a the Spott Hogg, the Cobra Sidewinder, Montana Gold and that Toxonics sight. I am leaning to the Toxonics unless the spott hogg lovers can talk me out of it. I have a quesiont though about the magnification. Is it legal for 3D shoots? How about Pope and Young?

The Spot Hog has a huge following on here. I just did not like the adjustability on it. I am always adjusting and the SH required to many allen wrenches for my liking. Don't take me wrong that thing is built to last a lifetime. If your a sight in and leave it alone kind of archer than that is a great option as well. The K9 I have does not have the option with a lens. The Top Dog does. I had a 4x lens on mine and it was nice but I was always leary of breaking it in a hunting situation. I shot several 3d's with no issues. I am unaware of any issues with PY. SHouldn't be a problem.

Has the sight ever come loose while shooting Rudd? I would like to get a new site that is adjustable and that looks like the ticket. I don't know if I want that many pins though, can one be removed?

comes in a 3 pin model as well. You sinch it down with the thumb screw and she's good to go. The All Green/Yellow pins are the brightest I have seen. Although I have not compared it to the guys Spot Hog's with fibre extensions. I try to live my life without using extensions.

a McGiver buddy of mine stumbled on them. Yes it is a pin protector. It's a plug from a plastic barrel. Ingenious.

I use the copper john dead nuts, 3 pin. Also has a cover like the one on Rudd's toxonics, I just got ripped off and paid 15 bucks for it and rudd got his for about 35 cents probably.

You guys have me contemplating a new sight now too. I really like the light bar concept of sights for light gathering. Can anyone comment on comparing a Cobra Sidewinder 5 pin and the Toxonics K9 Top Dog side by side?? Likes/Dislikes and whatever else you'd like to add. I am a set the pin and leave it kind of shooter if that helps at all.

Thanks,
Xtec

Well, I finally settled on a sight. It was tough because there are a lot of tradeoffs and each had their pluses. I wanted a 5 pin sight with bright pins, tough for hunting conditions, ablility to use .019 pins on the distant pins and the ability to make adjustments easily (I finally decided this was secondary). The Spot Hogg was always in there because of the toughness, but I wasn't sure I wanted to tackle adding the fiber to make it bright. So it came down to the Toxonics in Rudd's pic, The Dusk Devil from Montana Gold and the Cobra Sidewinder. I settled on the Cobra Sidewinder 3-pin with .029 pins and added 2 .019 pins to make a 5 pin sight. Hope it works out. From the research I did I think any of those would have been great for my needs.

I really don't think you could have gone wrong with any of the ones you mentioned. But I do have to ask...how did you like adding those extra pins on the Cobra? lol I look my 3 pin of .29 pins and went with 1, .29 and then added 4, .19 pins. To be honest, I wish I just bought a whole new sight decked out with .19 pins instead of going through that work. ha, ha

I thought real hard about going with the 19 pins, but enough people told me that I might lose the pin in daylight hunting situations that I chickened out. I may end up changing them out eventually.
