I talked to a group of hunters this last weekend who had filled 20 bonus season antlerless tags. Out of the 20 does taken, 13 were carrying twins. I was very surpised how much the fetuses were already developed . They were still hairless of course, but the hooves, eyes, and and other features were very defined. It seemed kind of groutesque at the time but by checking your harvested does you can learn alot about how many were bred, and how many young they were carrying. Take the 13 doe plus the 13 sets of twins, thats 39 deer taken out of the population. It makes it alot easier to see how an un-hunted herd can explode in numbers in just a years time. Granted, not all of the young would have survived, but is still goes to show how good doe management can make a stronger herd.

The last 2 does I harvested had some littlins inside as well...about 5 weeks gestation based on CR length.
