On page 22 of the new regs it talks about feral hogs. SHOOT ON SIGHT. No permit needed. I can hear those "Iowa chops" grilling already.

I've heard there are supposedly wild pigs in the state, anyone able to enlighten me where they're at? Just curious is all.

SW Iowa there was an outfitter that brought some in on his "high fence operation to give his area a little diversity and needless to say they all got out. I cant for the life of me think of the town. Will try to get that info.

Louisa county has had some in the last couple of years. Be careful of Brucellosis, one guy got sick with it not too long ago...in IA I think

On our farm there are 25 hog confinements and 25,000 hogs and apparently a few got loose a couple years back and while deer hunting with our bows my brother and dad seen some at different ends of our farm...at the time we had no clue what was up and my brother passed a 30 yard shot...won't make that mistake again!! The farmers told us to drop them and do what you'd like...I'm thinking crank up the grill!

We have them down on our farm in Louisa county. They shot a few in there last year during shotgun season. There is actually a big trap set up there on our border, it looks like one of those bear traps you see on tv where they walk in and the door closes behind them. They have never caught anything in them, but it's a big area down there. I haven't hunted down there in a couple years, so I have no clue about how many are around. The locals seem to talk about them alot though

Last year, a huge hog was shot near Moravia, SE Iowa. I think there were a bunch that got loose down there.
