Field & Stream.... must read!

Cornfed

Bowhunting Addict
Anyone seen the latest edition of F&S? There is a very interesting interview with President Bush and Senator John Kerry with various conservation questions..... definitely worth reading. But also there is other important news..... they are reporting that in July a federal judge from the U.S. District court in Phoenix, AZ ruled that the states 10% cap on nonresident elk and deer tags is unconstitutional.... they report similar lawsuits are being filed in other states..... they report this could affect a lot more states.

Now regardless as to were you stand on the non vs. resident tag issue, I think this is just one more giant step toward a federal agency determining the game laws for all the states...... pretty scary if you ask me. No better time than now to be involved in state and national conservation organizations....

Man I hope you heard wrong about Arizona. There was a thread on here a couple of months ago about USO outfitters' lawsuit in arizona, us here in Kansas may be targeted next...

he didn't hear wrong. if they win in arizona, look for similar lawsuits across the country

Page 19 of October edition of Field & Stream.... "License Caps under Fire"... go to the newstand and read it....

These district court judges are really taking the law into their own hands with their rulings... what is next?

Not to bang the drums hear guys, but this is the #1 reason why you should become a IBA member! The IBA is the loudest voice in the state when it comes to legislative issues. We work very closely with the DNR. This is why we have a full time lobbyist at the State Legislature. After reading this I encourage you to join up today. Go to the On-line store or visit www.iowabowhunters.org

Cornfed,

Thanks for the info.

Teeroy,

The USO outfitters won in AZ, and are filing in other 9th circut court states.

Surely there will be people trying to take a stab at Iowa based on what happend out West.

I second that Cornfed! This is an article worth reading! It really helped a young man like me with my decision to whom would be the best leader to help the hunters and fishermen of America!
Good hunting Jason

Kansas bowhunters i need your help. do we have anything like IBA here in Kansas? I e-mailed Mark Shoup at the wildlife dept. and asked what we could do to ensure what has taken place in Arizona doesn't happen here. but i might get a better response from you guys.

Thanks Supertec, I guess a few of you Hoyt guys are alright

. I visited that site and I also received advice to check out the Kansas Wildlife Federation, which has quite a bit of clout in the legislature.
