Hunter had a great first day of youth season. Passed on a bunch of small bucks...several at less than 50 yards. He had the safety off on a 140ish 8 pointer with a sticker, but held off because he couldn't get as steady as he wanted to be. Pretty great decision for an 11 year old :way:
Last night we decided to hit a hayfield to try and fill a doe tag. The landowner had been seeing several in this field, and they showed up right on script. At about 80 yards, Hunter picked this doe out and put one right on the money. A short tracking job later, we were looking for the camera
Now we'll get back after trying to find a good buck for him, but it was a great day to help him draw first blood for 2010...
