Today was epic! Saw 35+ birds fly down 200 yds away, at least 3 gobbling 50-75yds in the timber to my back. Lots of different shows in the field during the first hour and a half the last of which was a hen b-lining it for me being followed by 7 jakes and 5 gobblers. The jakes made their way to 15yds the gobblers on the other side of them at about 40. The jakes were interested in my hen and jake decoys, as they approach, a couple of the gobblers thunder at them running them off. The gobblers then have a show of dominance eventually with one approaching my jake decoy within a couple feet fanning and purring heavy. That was the last thing he did as my arrow dropped him at 12yds. This hunt was very gratifying not only to kill my first bow bird but the shows were unreal, even gun hunting I've never came close to this kind of action. Things fell together perfectly to make this my most memorable hunt to date. Hope to post the picks when I make it to my pc.
