On 08/22/02 We saw a nice 8 Pt That had completly change to his Dark winter coat, and was out of Velvet.

Saturday night the first two bucks I spotted were still in velvet and a pair I caught this morning were not showing bone yet.
I believe you are correct though, summer coats are gone and if horns aren't hard yet they will be soon....if not already for some.
Pics would be great, working towards some myself.

the deer i've glassed and gotten on the game cam still have thier velvet and are still orange lookin'. but i expect this should be changing anytime now..........
