first deer

I just thought it would be neat to see a pic of everybody's first deer and/or first buck, and hear the story behind it/them!! O don't forget to say how old you were when you harvested it/them, and how old you were when you started to hunt. Just thought it would be a great way to learn more about the people that are on here.!

So I'll go first, the 2009 shotgun season was my first time hunting. Not much to tell, I was posting as my Dad and brother pushed toward me. It was like an hr push and it was kindof cold that day,so by the time the deer came through i was just sitting there shivering. Well any way three deer came through a yearling doe, a more mature doe and behind her a 6 or 8 pt buck, well needless to say i shot the first deer that came through, as i lifted my gun to shoot the doe stopped behind a tree, and it just STOOD there. well I was shaking from, well deer fever so i just leaned back so i could see about an inch of brown, and shot, one shot through the neck at 25yds put it down in its tracks!!! here is a pic.

great idea for a thread! Should bring back alot of great memories that probably haven't been thought about in some time. I know you just gave me a flashback :way:

I was 9 years old hunting first shotgun season with my dad. Early in the morning a busted up 6 point came in and I said I didn't want to shoot him. Well, as he got out of range I changed my mind but my dad said it was still early and that we would likely see something a little bigger. Mid-morning my dad tells me there is a shooter buck behind us so I turned around, got the scope on him, and let the muzzleloader bark. He didn't go more than 75 yards. I was PUMPED! Later that day my dad shot a nice buck as well.

I don't have a pic yet but will try to get one up later. But here is my story. 1st year of bowhunting I was 21 years old. I was hunting with friends and one of the friends Dad. It was Oct. 31 and the Dad told me I could sit in his stand cuz the only thing walking through there was does anyway. I just wanted to shoot a deer. Read lots of magazines to get as much info as possible. Anyway, I took his spot and sure enough here came a bunch of does and a small 8 ptr behind the whole group. Came by at about 7 yards and I shot and spined him. After all the reading I learned you had to wait a half hour to let the buck expire. So, I look at my watch and a half hour later this buck is still laying there just as bright eyed as when I shot him. So, decided I had better shoot him again. LOL

Muzzy Four Blade perfectly placed in the Femoral... Deadly.. It was Oct 8, I was 12, 2 year deer hunting, first shot. My dad was right down the woodline and also shot a buck that night. I still remember how sick I was when the arrow hit her, and then she tipped over!
