I will be leaving in several hours to go on my first Kodiak Island hunt, This is a experiance of a life time. I am not the tag holder Just a back up gunman and a pack horse. My boss and I already have 400 some pounds dropped off at our base camp we have chosen from a prior guide for reference. I ended up getting a new pack called the terraframe by K2 and Omni Tech made by Columbia. I have most of the gear needed. Im all set and cant wait to go. We will be getting dropped off on Karluk Lake and then hike west towards a peak where our base camp will be at an elevation of 2087. From there we will be glassing 3 fingers and 170 degrees of flats and behind us will be the lake 6 miles away. From this vantage point we will really be covering some serious ground. at the end of the 11 day hunt we will be floating out on the Sturgen River 28 river miles to Sturgen Head, and picked up on the ocean shore on the small inlet. I cant wait to come back and share some great footage. Even I'm not doing the inichal shooting it will be a hell of an experiance. I'm also videotapeing the hunt and iwill be showing it on here if everything goes as planned.
