Anyone know guys who do GREAT fish work for a GOOD price,close to Des Moines?? My guy is about the best I know but his prices are CRAZY high...If he is good and reasonable... I have work for him right now!

Best I've seen, I live in SW IA by the way, is Hendrix Taxidermy in GLenwood. He charges $10 per inch. 2 hours from Des Moines. Best thing to do is drive around and look at everyones work. You may find someone cheaper, but the quality doesn't compare.

Last year I was doing fish for $8.50/in.. That was pretty much just because I was fresh out of school. I did a 24" walleye for a customer that turned out beautiful.. Pics to that are are still on my 35mm camera back home.. Here is the only pic I have with me of fish that I've done.. This one I did in school...
I'm 2 hours East of Des Moines though and I dont know how much work I'd be able to take in once I'm home.

sorry man- he is my uncle, I have seen his work, and I gotta recommend him. I understand what you are saying, money is tight for everyone, but you and I both know you get what you pay for. I would go talk to him and if your a repeat customer ask him if there is anything he can do for you on the price?
