Didn't know where to post this but I wanted to share my lake Fork Texas catch with you guys. Went down last weekend. This was the best one I caught and it weighed in the 7lb. range.

Nice one Headgear!! I wish we got more pictures of things other than whitetails once in awhile. Breaks the monotany of things sometimes.

Nice Fish!
We went there in '95 (Wow time flies) Flukes were the hot bait then dipped in chartreuse dye along with Spooks.
My best was around 6lbs but the guy I was with caught an 8 on a spook.

Love to see the bucketmouths!

Hey Headgear:

Super nice fish! Geesh, and I thought I was the only one around here that liked to chuck and wind for the little green fish (or in your case, the big green fish!)

Actually, I am hopelessly addicted to bass fishing (and bowhunting whitetails). And the more I do of each, the more I want to do. Drives certain people in my life crazy but, hey, they aren't hobbies, they are more like a way of life.

Pupster.....shhhhhhh....that chartreuse dye- tipped fluke is a killer in Iowa (tubes too), don't tell anyone..................ahhh, and the spooks, got to love 'em! I have at least a dozen Zara Spooks in my box. They are great for the biggest bass in a lake, yet few folks in Iowa seem to use 'em.

Hey everyone, have fun in the woods and on the water!!!! //Raven

Headgear,
Is red still the color down there for spinnerbaits?
Why the nighttime fishing just that daytime wouldn't produce?

Raven,
I still use the chartreuse dye around here, and always try spooks on every outing!

Pupster, at night you want to fish dark colors. Caught this on a black spinner with a single #5 Colorado blade and a no.11 black pork. We fish night this time of year at lake fork because there is alot of pressure during the day. Also typically bass will come up to the shallows to feed at night.

Thanks Chris. I guess as I look back at the pictures, it wasn't such an unlucky fishing hat after all.

Last year I went to the "Fork" with Headgear and another buddy. The fishing stunk!! No fish the first night and we were only fishing two nights. The second night Mike and I decided to crappie fish while Headgear and Dave went out for bass. We tied up under a bridge and tossed out minnows. I got skunked but Mike caught a 6lb. 10oz. bass on an ultra light with 4lb. test! Think that wasn't fun? He kept yelling, "get the net, get the net!" I looked at his rod and said, " you idiot, you're hung up!" About that time his real started rippin' line and he says, "you ever had a snag do that?!!" Well, I got the net and he wrestled that hog in.

Now I have to listen to that story every couple of months now and for the rest of my life. By the time we're 80 the story will start something like, "Remember that time I caught the Texas state record bass with nothin' but a...."

"Just shoot me now!"

We went in the fall of the year, pressure was a little bad, but everyone would share info as to what was working best. We didn't try any night fishing.

Good break for you in the March boredom time!
