flash not going off

For some reason the flash on my p41 won't go off anymore in the field. It will work when I take the camera out at home and take pics in the garage but as soon as I put it back out into the cold it won't work.

Am I needing to upgrade to lithium batteries?

You didn't change your delay to too short of time did you? It depends on the board, but usually needs 4-5 seconds for the flash to charge.

Sounds like a few possibilities. First ones that come to my mind are:

1.) Batteries in the cam or the board's battery for that matter
2.) Ribbon cable from the hack out of alignment inside the cam
3.) Solder connection on board for flash compromised

Try putting new batteries in both cam and board, then leave the cam hooked up to the board and try it indoors to test. If that doesn't work but it flashes when unhooked from the board, seems like #2 or #3 most likely.

It is a pete made home brew and I will take you up on that offer Mike. Saturday is when I'll be there.

It's actually a Pete/Ironwood homebrew so Mike should be able to fix it, I should be at the classic on Saturday as well.
