This one is for all the Fletchers on here... which kits or tools do you use, and why? If you have had any bad experiences with a particular brand, please also let me know - so I may benefit from your experience

If your serious and plan on doing alot of flecthing, I'd go with the Bitzenburger.Don't make the mistake I made, and buy a cheaper one. When I first started I purchased a B.P.E.,which is nylon constuction similar to the Grayling. Can't speak for the Grayling, but the one I got at the time just dosent compare to a Bitzenberger.Though it got the job done, you had to be extra careful setting the fletch, because the nylon clamps only have a small strip of metal that contacts the magnet, which I didn't care for.Another good one is the Jo-Jan flecthers also.Hope this helps, not sure what you mean by kits

,Don't know of any fletching kits, most fletchers are sold alone, atleast I'm not aware of any.Could you possibly be speaking of cresting kits also?

Bitzenburger because I was offered a used one cheap and I've heard they're the best. I also use both a strait clamp and a left helical. Easy enought to use but so far I've just refletched arrows needing repairs.

I am familure with a few , i curently use a BPE, inc but have heard nothing but good things about the bitzenburger or however you spell it.. To add to the thread my question is what type of glue do people like best and why?

I started using Goat Tuff a year or two ago, and I don't think you can beat it. I've never had a feather come loose (haven't done many vanes) and I also use it for inserts. I've tried some other brands but I really like the consistency when it comes out of the tube - it's easy to apply and doesn't make a stringy mess like some. Drys fast too.

As for the jig - I've only used a Bitzenburger but I don't have any reason to try another.

I fletch arrows for an archery shop in my town. And we use jo-jans and just love them. as for goat tuff. It works great and fast for feathers on the shaft but dont use it on wraps because it will melt the wraps. It really shines with vanes because of its ability to melt the vane directly to the shaft. When using wraps we always use bondtite. I would recommend staying away from nvp glue. it sucks

Like was said above, buy a Bitzenburger and you'll never find yourself wanting another fletcher, period. Simple, rugged, and reliable. I'm also a fan of Goat Tuff. Incredible, incredible stuff.

I got an Arizona EZ Fletch last winter and it works like a champ. I know, it's a "cheapy" compared to what you guys use, but I like it.

I bought a cheap Cabelas jig that lets you do all three at once. It is a little touchy, but it works. I also say Goat Tuff for the glue, at least with aluminum shafts. What does everybody use for carbon shafts?

Bought an ARizona about 10 years ago, chucked in the garbage after much frustration. Then bought a bitzenburger, never had a problem since!

Jo-Jan is the best one i have used. I can fletch 6 arrows in around an hour and a half. I had a bitzenburger single fletcher with the magnet and just did not like it. Somebody on ebay ended up with it. Jo-Jan is my answer. As for glue I use the bond tite . Most of our arrows use feathers and it works fine. I might try some goat tuff though. just to see because ive never used it.

I used a Jojan multi for several years but recently sold it and bought a Bitzenberger and I like it very well. It's easier to make the adjustments and there are more of them. Since I use fast setting glue now I didn't need a multi setup.
