Foodplot Golden Corral Buffet

First attempt at a Foodplot. I know it isnt the best thing or the prettiest sight but it was kinda just done on a whim where we said a foodplot would look good here and then hurried and did it. Ground wasnt worked well enough but it turned out ok. So we started first by using corn for security in the plot and cover for me to slip around the plot to a stand. Beans put in for a yummy (steak dinner). Little compacted up on the hill so beans didnt grow that well but at the bottom of the plot they are already knee high. Have Evolved Harvest Prograze, and in the bare spots you see at the bottom of the plot and behind the trees I put Evolved Harvest Winterpz and Forage Oats. Also in the patch of trees there are two salt blocks and a bunch of lucky buck mineral on the ground. Got a few bucks that are coming along quite nice cant wait for the season to start. Let me know what you think and any ideas for now and later.

Did they make it a law now that you cant hunt a place you had mineral in the summer?

Yeah, some would say it's still fall bait. Yes, deer don't really use mineral in the fall SO you're not really hunting over bait BUT with laws/government, I guess it doesn't matter. What I do is take a big piece of ply-wood and cover it up during the fall OR put a big hay bail over it.

looks good man :way:

I'm not sure I would put a bail on it though Skip. I think that could be considered baiting as well. Just fill it in, or put something over it and you'll be fine.

The plot looks good for the "on a whim" planning. You might want a few more rows of corn cover, but what you have should work.

As for the "baiting" law...that food plot is a lot more "bait" than that salt lick will ever be...STUPID LAW...:thrwrck:

Ill just till it under that law is dumb as hell and thanks it tuned out well i think and the corn was hand planted had already switched to bean planter but turned out well for what we had.
