Justhunt,
If your going to use it a lot, get a high quality, more expensive one. Food saver model will not handle lots of work past a year. I have the cabelas model that costs about 400, but closer to 300 when it goes on sale. I have a quasi butcher shop and it has lasted 5 years of heavy use. Prior I went through a food saver or two in a year, good thing they had a warranty that I was able to keep the original money working but after the last one gave out I went with quality/more expense and saved money in the long run.
Get the 100 ct of precut bags, also cheaper and time saving in the long run. Most of my serving sizes fit in the 8"x12" cabelas bag.
If you grind, get the pound or two pound plastic bags and a red tape dispenser and grind right into them, twist shut, and tape it and you basically have vacuum packed the burger/sausage.
Have fun.
