Have you purchased your 2005 tag yet? If so, you've seen the new computer system. I'm glad to see Kansas finally taking a small step in the right direction to regulate the purchase of tags. My concern is with the new tie-on system. What's to keep poachers from reusing the tag? I e-mailed KDWP with my concern, but I'm not counting on hearing back from them.

The same as always. You have to sign and date you're tag before removing from site of kill.Once the tag is signed it's a used tag. If the hunter is caught with a deer and a unsigned tag on it then they will be charged with poaching. This will always be an issue unless we get check stations.

The last few seasons I even heard of guys who lost their tags because they blew off the deer in the back of the truck.I don't know who's idea it was to have to tie on you're tag with a string but I think they need their head examined.I liked the old tags also!

I recently moved to Kansas from WI and this will be my first year hunting KS. WI has had the tie on tags for quite a while and one of the things we use to keep them from coming untied is zip ties. They're easy to put on and will not come undone.

I'm with you fellas you couldn't beat the old sticky-back tags. On a sidenote, I had a pretty tough time deciding on two units this year, how about you guys? It will affect at least one of my hunting areas...

It was ok for me, I thought that I was going to get screwed, however, with the way that the units are set up It did not hurt me at all....

I still do not like the idea of not having statewide archery anymore...

Didn't affect me either. I only hunt one unit. They asked me what I wanted for a second unit and I told them It didn't matter. The new units really screwed a few on my buddies that like to go out west. I dont like the idea either Mark. The KBA fought a long hard battle at the capitol to get it thrown out but failed.
