Friend's muzzleloadwer whitetail....persistence!

Here is a whitetail shot by my friend Cam this fall. He shot it back in Oct. with his muzzleloader but it made it to the river and swam to an island. Twice he swam to the island to try and find it. All through the season he kept looking on the island. Finally in late Nov. while hunting the island with some friends and family it was found by one of the others. It was immediately recognized as the buck he'd lost. He cut his tag and took the antlers home with him. It's too bad he lost the meat but lucky for him he was able to find his trophy. He did a quick European mount hims elf but is now in the marker for a cape.

Beautiful Buck. At least he can breathe a little now. Losing and never finding something like that would really suck.
