frost seeding

anyone try frost seeding in to existing alfalfa ?? like clover , or chicory? or anything else need ideas .

Tried a couple of times with a clover mix, no alfalfa ever came up.

IMO - I'd seed the traditional route if looking to establish much of a stand.

Alfalfa has allopathic properties so seeding into it doesn't work very well.

ok thanks thought only problems with alfalfa seed is seedling in to standing alfalfa .

clover or chicory may work but not alfalfa seed .

I think the allopathic properties will keep many other species from growing but haven’t tried it

Agreed. I've tried killing grass out of tired alfalfa fields and interseeding clover. Didn't work.

no wrong !!! just look in to university of wisconsin extension and you can frost seed white clover , ryegrass some red clovers orchid grass. bermeem clover & others .

Could be. Hasn't worked for me.
