Full Moon and Rut

Full moon lands right smack in the middle of November this year (16th). Any opinions on how that will affect deer movement?

A lot of movement around the middle of the day...just my opinion.

No effect...bucks will just start to really cruise for the remaining does. That week following the 16th is when the real hogs start showing up.

Drury's:

Hunt the rising moon in the evening and the falling moon in the mornings. If you can get a cold front in that time period it could be the best hunting ever.

This November the rising moon will start on the 11th and end on the 15th with the 13th being the best in my observations of the moon rising. The moon falling will be the 18th through 22nd with the 20th being the best morning. This works every month. Just find the full moon and count back 3 days and you have the best evening to hunt and count forward 4 of the full moon and get the best morning action.

The weather probably plays a bigger role with deer movement in my opinion.

I can guarantee you will have a lot of deer action if you hunt all day and every day of November!

I like to hunt evenings when a moon is rising in the afternoon and hunt mornings when the moon is rising at night regardless of moon phase.

But when it comes right down to it I hunt whenever I can!

So, all this technical stuff being said, when are you all going to be using up valuable vacation time? I plan on taking the 2nd week of November off for sure. Can't make up my mind to take off the first of third week of november to compliment it. Persoanlly have had better luck the first week, but this year November starts earlier in the week (Tuesday I think) vs the other years where it started later.
