Well I said I wouldn't go out until middle to late October- I started watching hunting shows and getting the itch and well---you know. So tomorrow AM ill be in the stand -it's a spot that doesn't have my hit listers on so going after doe tomorrow. Will have to be a giant to tag out this early- keep ya posted !

I was out Friday morning and afternoon seen 13 doe and 4 bucks. That more deer than I seen the whole month of Oct last year. Found a ridge that had big fresh acorns on the ground it was like a magnet I was covered
up with deer all afternoon
 
Well the wind was wrong for the stand I plan to sit in, so I'm headed down to the box blind at the river bottom and Field edge. Keep you posted
 
Right at first shooting light I had 3 bucks in the beans- 2 small and 1 nice 10. Not nice enough to be tagged out my first time out - good potential for next year though. Zero doe so far Coyotes were sure vocal before light!
 
4 deer in total- all bucks. Only 1 decent - and about 12+ yearling turkeys walked by. no doe to shoot - and my body was def not used to the cold yet- thank you heated Milwaukee jacket! Have lunch plans in waukee so I had to cut it early. Probably going to stick to evenings over my plots for a few weeks

Headed to southern iowa this afternoon to pull cards and sit over my foodplot for the first time. Goal is a doe but I wouldn't be mad if a giant stepped out!
 
I never got around to posting these, but here are a couple videos from last Saturday. Hunting was good last Friday-Saturday as far as deer movement. Not much mature buck movement, but was fun nonetheless.

This first video is of a potential giant buck in a couple years that is only two this year. Who already has splits and "junk" growing on his 2's. I have to think of a name for him, was thinking "Genes".



This second one, is of a nice 3yr old who followed the script perfectly. Comes out of thick stuff, walks the mowed path, then works across the brassica field for a nice 25yd shot. Didn't get great video beforehand, but he walked 250yds down to get to plot, was neat to watch him walk down and in. He even posed next to my trail cam that is on the plot! Hoping the older bucks move to his pattern soon.

 
I had the buck I put in the "shoot or pass help" post at 20 yards tonight. Very cool to see him up close live. Was pretty easy to pass him knowing the end goal.

Skyler- that buck is 2.5?!? Gonna be a toad!

Yeah, you see his body and can't believe that rack belongs to him. The video also just from that angle makes him look bigger than he really is. Still really impressive for what he is.
 
I hunted opening morning untill 9, basicly just 2 get in tree n sit, I knew that the weekend was duck opener so I'd b to busy to go n sit then, I ended up seeing like 12 tree rats n a flock of geese. I guy at work been hunting pretty hard in the afternoon n seeing a lot of deer, so I figured I'd go sit this new piece of property I got permission on,I don't have any cameras out there so Am kind of curious what could b running around out there, 630 prime time I ended up havein a decent 2 year old main frame 8 come up behind me about 15 yards swing out n around n front of me to about 20 then veered back off to the right, back in to the timber, it's just a blast watching them do there thing in my eyes, seen 3 more deer but they were 400yards or more in the middle of the beans 10 mins b4 shootin light, all n all I know there a few deer out there anyways better then siting at home wishing I was n a tree
