Before I head out to the Iowa woods this weekend I thought I could pick up a tip or two from a few of you. Hopefully everyone can learn from someone else's experience. I'll start it off.

If you hear a buck grunting but can't see him and he is not responding to your grunts try a doe bleat or a can call. I did this last year and in came two fawns then their mother and right behind her was the big boy that was doing all the grunting. I missed.

it's NEVER too early to rattle...as long as you use your head when doing so. don't rattle aggressively this early, just tickle the tines and you never know what's gunna show up.

I have heard of (human) pee on scrapes I'm just makin sure thats what i'm getting out of shredder. And do the deer seem to act at all spooked?
 
yes he's talking about human pee. check out a couple posts we've talked this over. one is "pee from the tree" started by yours truely last fall and then look at the trail cam section and check out Ghosts buck that he got to come into a busch light scrape!! awesome stuff.
