Getting Started

I purchased a camera late last fall and didn't really get a chance to use it. When is a good time to start? Do most people wait until summer? Thanks.

I start putting them out in late June/early july timeframe. The good bucks will have quite a bit of groth by that time. I don't use much of the information I gather at that time but it is good to get your buck inventory going.

If you are just wanting to get to know your camera better there is no better time to start than right now!

Then, when the velvet monsters start to show up in July you will be armed with confidence in yourself and your camera.

Good luck and most of all have fun!

Thanks for the advice. I'll be using it on public land so now I need to find a way to conceal it so it won't get stolen. Thanks again. I'm anxious to get started.

Public land... Probably gets hit with hikers and shed hunters. I would probably pull it during turkey season. Then get it back out after turkey season. I agree with ghost - get some practice before you need the good pics.
