Gobbler Getters?

AZHunter

Iowa Boy At Heart
Ok, so its starting to look like setting my bow up to fill one of 2 tags in NM is not going to happen with the Magnus Bullheads I inquired about earlier. The NAP Gobbler Getters seem to be a short-term, cheaper way to go (for now) if I simply want to take a bird with my bow this spring. They seem to have good reviews regarding flight and quick knock-down power. Plus, I can keep a couple of arrows tipped with them during our fall archery only deer/turkey season in case a bird crosses my path while chasing deer. Has anyone used these with good success or have any general reviews on them before I make a final decision? Bullheads will happen, just not likely this spring. I appreciate any insight.

I've never used them but I think they'd be just fine. Last I checked they were more expensive than Rocket Hammerheads which I think cut a larger hole and I know for a fact have killed a lot of turkeys for me.

Thanks for the tip, Muddy! I'll look into those. Have you had to chase birds very far with them? I'm getting too old to chase after a turkey...

The indians used sharpened rocks tied to sticks. I'd guess about anything on the market will work just fine.

AZ I've had birds go anywhere from straight down to 100 yards depending on shot placement.

Gobbler getters definitely smack. I agree with the above comments. Big cuts come first. If you don't have a big cut just use a dull head. You'll get em!

Absolutely nothing wrong with bullheads. Financially, getting the bullheads, arrows to go with them and, possibly the quiver adapter are going to be cost prohibitive at this point. Gobbler getters or the Rocket Hammerheads seem to be the cheaper way to get after turks with my bow this spring. I'll be getting the bullheads for sure by next spring!
