I know that some of you guys have been talking about this head... I recently saw them at the local Gander Mountain. Definately some serious blade there

.... I am curious as to how you would practice with this type of head? .... or are they suppose to fly like field points at close range?... I saw one of the Double Bull guys on 'The Wild Outdoors' TV show yesterday using them... he shot 3 times at the same bird before making a head shot... also how do you plan on carring them in the field?

I was wondering about how to practice with them as well. Really wouldn't want to stick one into a block target? How could you practice without bending the blades?

Surprisingly you use field tips to practice. I practiced with 125 grain field tip and when I finally shot the GG last spring it flew dead on nuts accurate, it was awesome. I only carry one put together, and I carry it in the plastic case that they come in when you purchase them. I simply screw it onto the arrow and wait. If I miss I plan on using a Rocket Hammerhead as back up. I do have a slate call carrier that I think I could have a second GG ready to go.

I have never killed a bird with these but to practice with them you would get your feild tips sighted in good and then shoot one at carpet but don't forget that the straws need to be on the blade or they will not be accurate.

I know your spse to use the long arrows with the funnyfletching. but CAN you screw them into your normal arrows and have them fly the same??

All you gotta do is make sure it's a full length arrow. of any kind, that clears your sights. I also recommend that you fletch your arrow up with 5 inch fletchigns for stability. I use 5 inch feathers on my full length gold tips and it flies fine up to 30 yards, dead on.
