I would like to plant a plot next week, about .5 acre. I have rural water right by the plot that I put in when we had cattle so water is not an issue. Any suggestion as to what to plant?
The deer in our area never get good clover anymore so I was considering some type of clover but can it be planted this late? If we have to innerseed with rye that would be ok as well.
The plot was cleared about 3 years ago and we planted with some seed but it never did great because I could not get to it with crops in to do maint. nor did I fertilize. I bought a rough cut mower for my Ranger so I can cut some trails to it without driving in the corn. I just remembered that we have a hydrant about 30' from the plot so it dawned on me I could make this work.
