Gold Tip 5575 to 7595

I was just curious as to how many of you GT shooters have made the switch to 7595's. I remember Matt saying he'd done this. I'm having a hard time getting my 5575's to fly straight. Out of the last half dozen I bought, 2 wouldn't fly well with field points. Only 2 would fly well with broadheads. I'm shooting 29" arrows with blazers, at 70 pounds. I've worked with the local pro shop quite a while on my bow tuning, so I don't think the bow is the problem.

I would think you should get excellent flight with the 7595... honestly, at 70 lbs. you must be shooting a very light head to get the spine up on those... I guess it also depends on your setup.

I am shooting 55lbs... with 5575 Goldtip ProHunter (30") shafts and they ONLY fly really well if I shoot 75 grain fieldtips / broadheads....

With todays center shot bows I don't think you can hardly overspine carbon arrows... I have actually recently purchased 7595 GTs to try to shoot in my bow set at 58 lbs... wanting to shoot heavier shaft and broadhead combination...

I am certainly not an expert.... but I think you will be very happy with the 7595 shafts in your setup at 70lbs

Cornfed, to be honest, since switching to Gold Tips, I haven't payed a whole lot of attention to spine -- I just took the word of the company, good for 75#, I'm shooting 100 gr. points and broadheads, so you just might have shown me the problem already.

Jamie,
I think you would notice a big difference in flight. The 5575's did fly worth a hoot out of my switchback or my legacy. I am also guessing if you have your SQ2 buried it is probably around 72#. I am shooting 72 29 inch draw with my arrows at 28 1/4 and have bullet holes with the pro hunter 7595's with a 100 grn head. Weasel is shooting the same set up.

Matt, I should have probably made the switch when this came up a few months ago, but it was right before season and I'd just bought the 5575's. It would have saved me HOURS of frustrating tuning problems. The mistake just about cost me a doe. On that note, anyone want to buy a few Gold Tip 5575s?

I switched to the 7595's two seasons ago and have been real happy as well...although my switch was from Carbon Express.

70# draw, 29.5" shafts with 100 grain Crossfires shoot really, really well on my setup. The 7595's cured my underspined blues.

I shot the GT 5575's (27 in. shaft & 100 gr. field tips and broadheads) this year using my Switchback XT set at 65 lbs. Killed 10 deer and every shot was exactly where I placed it (including one from 50+). Flies straight enough for me I guess.

Similar results here. Shooting about 65 lbs on three different bows (2 Hoyts and a Mathews). 29" draw. 29 1/4" arrows. 100 grain tips. Shooting 5575s on all with no spine issues.

That is right in spec with what their chart shows. The 70-72# is right on the edge with the 28.5-29 inch arrow. I fought and fought the 5575's and just gave up and went with the 7595's. Pack a little more punch at the other end as well.

I switched last summer and so did my brother and dad and it solved all our problems, good luck!

Guess I forgot to add we all are shooting 29.5" arrows and 100 grain tips

I shoot the 5575 pro's and i get great flight w/ them, but I also have a midget draw at 26.5, 248 fps w/ my switchback xt. Iam actually thinking of trying the 3555's to get a little more speed and less drop at those guess distances.

I would try to get a few 7595's off like archery talk for cheap and see how they fly for you. Both broadheads and field points.

Arrow length really affects the spine of most arrow materials considerably... there is a significant difference in spines of the same material that is 2-3" different in length ie. 27" vs. 30"

I shoot 5575's and they shoot perfect for me!! i got my 9 pt this year at 30 yds with them! and im not switchin for a while!!

Well I finally got to the shop and bought some 7595's and man what a difference! I can't believe I didn't do this a long time ago. I haven't shot them through the chrono yet though, that might temper my satisfaction a little bit. 65 grains heavier...

Jamie,
Your arrows are going to fly straighter and penetrate deeper. No need to be disappointed over a few feet per second.
