Goldtip shortage?

Unless my proshop owner is just feeding me a line, you might want to get your Goldtips for season early. I just bought his last dozen XT's, and he found those on ebay. His shipments are running an average of two months behind right now. In order to take care of orders he's selling the Goldtip Ultralights, which are advertised as a target arrow, but are still tough enough for hunting.

another reason, i heard, is that the high quality carbon that gold tip uses, is also in high demand from the military. one of my suppliers has xt's on back order.
mountain archery always seems to have some on ebay (and at the best prices). so i'm going to get a dozen to keep in reserve

teeroy is right, the materials used in making those arrows, are the same materials that are used in making flak jackets/vests/armour/etc. There is a huge shortage. Also if you want a winners choice string it will take a minimum of two to three weeks at least! There is something going on at their shop, possible split or something.

Yep... I ordered Gold Tips for our shop over 5 weeks ago, no dice. They moved their facility, that's the main hang up. Nice time of year to move without filling their orders! Someone should get a pat on the back at Gold Tip for that business savvy move. I wanted to try out the Gold Tip Pro Hunters in camo, but we ordered them over 6 weeks ago for the shop and have yet to see them. Thanks but no thanks, I'll stick with my Carbon Express Maxima Hunters!

So, does anyone know where a person can purchase 2 dozen Gold Tips?????

I am looking for raw shafts, I plan to do my own fletching.

I was just at B and A Archery in creston and he had some, dont know what kind of Gold Tips. His name is Bruce Hanson and his # is 641-782-6675. He opens up when you call him. I have went to his house at 11 pm before. Really great guy to work with. He is partial to Mathews but will help you with any bow you have. Also it looks like Keystone Country Store has some pro hunters but are out of the 5575 and are completely out of the XT's. Did some more checking and Cabelas has the GT pro hunters 5575 in stock. Good luck with your search. Try the Carbon Express Maxima's Great arrow and about the same price for bare shafts.

I got my Pro Hunters through Archery Warehouse and had them a few days after placing the order. Although that was about six months ago, so maybe delivery times have changed since then.

go figure my dad and I bought new XT's about a month ago and were setup with 5575 XT's and they are underspined for our setups so we were going to go get some 7595 XT's....hopefully we can find some or I might get some Maximas or Axis...

5575s were underspined? What kind of setup do you shoot? 5575s are a pretty tough arrow, I know lot's of quite long draw guys shooting them at 65 lbs. plus.

Jamie,
I have the same problem with the 55/75s I am shooting 72lbs and the 55/75s are all over the place but I switched to 75/95s and couldn't be happier. Gives a little heavier arrow as well.

Last year I bought a dozen Gold Tip 75/95s by mistake, I thought they were 55/75s. They were the same color after all. I even had one of my 55/75s in hand for length.

I didn't realize my mistake until I had been practicing for over two weeks with them. I looked at 'em and noticed there was a diffent number.....anyway, they hit the target the same at 30-20-15 yards as the 55/75s. But remember, it was me shootin 'em so I coulda just been lucky.

Not much difference. More noticable at 40. I don't know about speed as I haven't shot it through a chrono with them. I was most concerned with flight and they flew much better, no corkscrew.
